Why Locals Love Le Versailles
Nestled in the charming suburb of Issy-les-Moulineaux, just a short journey from the heart of Paris, Le Versailles is a delightful brasserie that captures the essence of classic French dining with a contemporary twist. This restaurant exudes a warm, inviting atmosphere where locals and travelers alike gather to enjoy expertly crafted dishes paired with attentive, friendly service.
Le Versailles specializes in authentic French cuisine, offering a menu that celebrates regional flavors and traditional favorites. Among their standout offerings are the beautifully aged cheeses under Nos Fromages affinés, featuring a curated selection including Cantal, Saint Nectaire, Bleu d'Auvergne, and the iconic Roquefort de l'Aveyron—all priced at €8.90. The rich, creamy textures and bold, nuanced flavors of these cheeses make for the perfect start or finish to any meal.
The brasserie also shines in its comfort-food staples like the fluffy, delicate omelettes: whether it’s the simple Omelette Nature (€9.50), the savory Omelette Jambon ou Fromage (€11.00), or the decadently combined Omelette Jambon et Fromage (€12.50), each bite delivers a satisfying embrace of classic French technique and fresh ingredients.
Complementing their cuisine is an inviting list of beverages, from refreshing still and sparkling mineral waters to freshly squeezed juices like Orange Pressée (€7.50) and Tart Citron Pressé (€5.50). For those who want a lively twist, the Cocktails de Jus de Fruits (€8.00) offer a burst of fruity delight, perfectly balancing the rich flavors of the food.
Guests consistently praise Le Versailles for its exceptional ambiance and top-tier service. Valeria Mendoza raves about the “delicious food and atmosphere,” highlighting the “excellent service” and thoughtful English menus that make every diner feel at ease. Meanwhile, William Crawford's testimony is glowing: in a week of fabulous Parisian dining, Le Versailles stood out as “the highlight,” drawing them back three times to savor more of the “super tasty” meals and the warm, accommodating staff.
What truly sets Le Versailles apart is its ability to combine genuine French culinary craftsmanship with an inclusive, welcoming environment. Bryan Lawrence’s experience perfectly encapsulates this, praising the staff’s friendliness despite language barriers and the memorable opportunity to savor quintessential French delicacies like snails and frogs’ legs in an atmosphere buzzing with authentic charm.
Whether you're seeking a cozy meal after exploring Paris or a hidden gem that offers the true flavors of French brasserie cooking, Le Versailles is a culinary destination that delights the senses and leaves you longing for your next visit. The blend of flavorful dishes, from perfectly melted cheeses to expertly seasoned omelettes, paired with attentive service, make every dining experience here genuinely special.
For anyone craving a taste of France that feels both authentic and approachable, Le Versailles stands as a heartfelt invitation to indulge, relax, and savor the best of French brasserie culture just outside Paris.

Best coffee we’ve had in Paris. Maybe even in this part of Europe! The service from Margot was outstanding. Wish we found this place sooner.

In a week of fabulous food in Paris this was the highlight. We loved it so much that we came 3 times!! Every meal was super tasty. Service was quick. The staff were lovely (even when we asked for vinegar with our chips). We hope to come again. Your Scottish fans!

We had an amazing experience. We were welcomed by Peter, who was so friendly to us even though we did not speak a word of French. He recommended the best drinks and food. We tried snails, frogs legs and more. The atmosphere was amazing, and the owners were at hand to talk. This experience and Peter's excellent service made this better than the 2 dinners we had next to the Eifel tower. Thank you!

My wife and I came here because we read though the negative reviews and the responses from the restaurant and decided they were our kind of people. It absolutely did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and kind even though we are typical Americans who are terrible at French. The service was attentive. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the sausage dish. Overall a great experience and we look forward to coming back before we leave Paris!

A smart and accessible brasserie positioned well next to the Porte de Versailles, the aptly titled ‘Le Versailles’ is an energetic, typically French experience, bustling with atmosphere. A total range of out of town conference business visitors, local couples, and solo eaters, I loved the variety of the demographic. Service was fine, food was good, however the entrecôte upon which they prided themselves was slightly average. The mountain of frites which accompanied it (a feature if other guests have a similar order) was a fun addition. Did it have that je ne sais quoi? No. Would I write home about it? No. Would I recommend it and visit it again? Yes! Standout: escargots and wine

An Unexpected Gem in Paris – Highly Recommended! After a long day of hard work at the trade show, all we wanted was good food and a comfortable place to relax with colleagues. Our group started with eight people, but soon grew to fourteen. Normally, that’s a recipe for complications… but not here. As we were standing outside, a friendly lady happened to walk out and welcomed us with a big smile and energetic enthusiasm! We later learned that this was Margot, the owner and what a hostess! She even recognized a few colleagues from a year earlier. Despite the late hour, she managed to arrange several tables for us, allowing us to sit comfortably throughout this beautiful venue. After our first drinks, we received the menu. Margot passionately explained the specialties, offered great recommendations, and even went the extra mile for one of our vegan colleagues by preparing a special dish just for him. That alone says everything about the care and dedication here. The ambiance is wonderful, the staff attentive, the atmosphere warm, and the food absolutely delicious! This is a place where you feel welcome from the very first moment. For anyone visiting Paris: don’t miss this place! We will return as often as we can! Special note to Margot Thank you for hosting our (loud) group! keep it up! Your business is beautiful, and your aura is warm and full of love!

The owner’s kindness and attention to guests created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s clear that great care goes into both the cuisine and the service. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates fine French dining.
